Windows Menus Startmenu/Settings keep registering non existant Keypresses

    Hello there,

I have a weird issue with my windows recently:

After a certain time of being running about 10 minutes the startmenu starts to register "Up-Arrow" Keypresses. This behavior extends to most of the windows core components like the settings menu etc.. But NONE of my other running applications show the same behavior, they work just fine. The issue is that i have a habit of searching stuff by pressing the windows-key and then typing away, which is not possible as long as this bug persists because it keeps scrolling my startmenu up and does not register my text input.

    What do i know/what have i tried:

    - Rebooting resolves the issue for a short amount of time e.g. 10 minutes.

    - The bug also occurs if i am not using my computer during this timeframe so it is not likely anything i do

    - There is nothing in the autostart exept "Steam", "Windows Security notification icon" and "Cortana"

    - Removing the keyboard does not fix the issue, the startmenu still registers "Up-Arrow"-like behavior

    - Removing both mouse AND keyboard also did not correct the issue

    - Pressing the "Up-Arrow" key in the menus to get it "unstuck" also does not fix the bug, i am just scrolling up faster because i am "helping" the bug do its thing

    - The bug starts AFTER applying updates. My old 1909 installation was fine until i applied updates one day, and the vanilla 2004 is also working as expected before i apply updates and the issue reappears.

Google had nothing to say on this specific issue, but i cant be the only one experiencing this... I usually solve my problems on my own, but have reached a point of desperation where i dont know how to continue further hence the writing of this post

Has ANYONE had similar issues? How can i fix it??

    :)

  2. Non-Existent email address entered on registering Windows 10

I entered a non-existent email address by mistake, when registering Windows 10. Now I keep getting pop-up messages, saying that I need to verify thisaddress, which of course I can't. I have tried the following suggestion given to another user,
but it doesn't work for me. Does anyone have a better suggestion please?

Let's try the steps below and check if it helps:

    1. Click on the Start menu and select Settings.

    2. Now click on Accounts and click on Your Info.

    3. Click on Sign in with a Local account instead and follow the onscreen instruction to change the account to Local account.

    4. Now follow the same steps and select Sign in with Microsoft Account and follow the onscreen instruction to change the account to Microsoft Account. Use the Correct Microsoft account to configure the account.

  3. Startmenu not "updating"

    Hey,

    I got the following problem:

    • Newly installed Programs/Apps will not show up in the startmenu
    • Programs/Shortcuts I add to the Startmenu folders want show in my startmenu
    • Startmenu search won't find the new items either, even not if they are pinned to the startmenu

What I have tried to fix my problem:

    • Rebuilding my search index
    • Reinstalling all windows apps, including cortana
    • Try to locate the issue with the System File Checker (sfc /scannow) ⇒ nothing found
    • Running the troubleshooter ⇒ returns "incorrect permissions on Windows Search directoriers"
      • changed the default Search folder where the index is saved
      • checked permissions for the Search folder (seems ok)

What I think initially caused the error:

    • I switched from German to English on my Win10 PC
      • I then realised that a lot of my searchable windows settings still showed inGerman and not in English and were in addition not clickable anymore (nothing happended)
      • I could not fix the issue so I switched back to German
      • This made the Win10 settings searchable and clickable again, but since then my Startmenu seems to be stuck on its old index
I am running Windows 10 Education with the Anniversary Update - which for me removed Cortana (maybe this issue is connected?)

    Any help or advise?

Windows Menus Startmenu/Settings keep registering non existant Keypresses

    Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
    What do you think?
