Windows 10: Random restarts on Dell Inspiron 7370

I have had my laptop for a year and it recently started having this problem: while using Edge, the screen goes black and the computer shuts down. When I press the power button, it turns back on after having fully restarted and all my startup apps open. Then 1 minute later, it shuts down again and this loop repeats until I give up and leave it alone. When I come back to my laptop the next day, it starts up and functions normally without randomly restarting.


This has happened several times and I want to know what to do to prevent my laptop from randomly shutting down. My windows 10 is updated and usually I use my laptop with the power cord plugged into the wall though my charger has also been malfunctioning lately.

I have just downloaded Windows 10 to a Dell Inspiron 546 with a Dell 810 All in One printer. The previous OS was Windows 7. I had downloaded Windows 10 because the Windows invitation assured me all was well for the download.

Having made the download I discover I can not print. The printer is listed in settings. It used to be the default device.

Can you advise the steps I should take?
