Hello, I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I'm hoping someone can help fix it if not point me in the right direction. This is such a specific issue, no amount of searching has yielded any results.

I have to use a YubiKey with two-factor authentication for work. I have used it for years without any issues, but I recently got a new computer, and it has started doing this weird thing. When you push the YubiKey, after it "types" the security string, it finalizes by doing what is essentially "hitting enter" on your keyboard. When I am asked to push the YubiKey, Windows Hello pops up a little window (see pictures for example). Since I got my new computer, it highlights (focuses?) on the "Cancel" button, so when I push the Yubikey, it doesn't read the generated string, then when it "hits enter", it is hitting enter on the "Cancel" button, closing the authentication window.

    Lit focused Cancel button

I can get around it by clicking in the Windows Hello box (anywhere that isn't the Cancel button), so it's not unusable. But that adds up to a lot of time wasted each day, each week, etc. I have tried it in numerous browsers, same issue. Can anyone help me? Thanks for your time.

    Normal non-focused cancel button

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    Windows Hello not working properly

    Hi Jim,

For us to properly isolate the issue with your Windows Hello, we would like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g. updates, software installation)?
    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what specific troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you try reinstalling your camera driver to resolve the issue.

We look forward to your response.
