    Internal mic no longer works after update


    Hi, I did a system update yesterday and after it had completed my internal mic no longer works. I discovered this just as I was about to give an on-line lecture. The mic worked fine the day previously, and when I look in the device manager it isn't on the list. All I seem to have is the realtek high definition audio device as the input for recording, when I enabled it the mic still didn't work. But, what did happen was that if I played audio I got a feedback echo. As if the headphones where acting as a mic! If I disbale it the echo stops. I tried to restart Windows Audio in the Services dialogue box, and this just gave the feedback loop.


    I know the internal mic is still there as I haven't dismantled the laptop !, so what has happened? As I say the issue only came up after doing the Windows update.


    I could really do with the mic working again, please help!

    Internal Mic No Longer Works

    I have an Asus computer and after accepting the Windows 10 update, the internal microphone no longer works. The same thing happened to my friend's Dell after updating to Windows 10. Any suggestions?

    Internal mic no longer works after update

    Toshiba Satellite L450 internal mic not working.

    My Toshiba Satellite L450D Internal mic is not working. I am using Windows 10 and have tried updating the drivers as well as reinstalling the microphone. I have checked everything suggested. The mic is the internal Realtek High Definition. I have used the
    troubleshooter and it hasn't sorted it.

    Any thoughts?
