Windows 10: "Generic Software Component" driver issue

    I was using Driver Easy to install some drivers related to my motherboard and chipset, but when I go to try and install them driver easy says my current drivers are as old as 2006, and are simply named "Generic Software Component" and none of those show up in device manager, where I've been installing other drivers. Is there a different way to install these drivers? Or is there a way to find these in device manager?

    Any help is appreciated

    'Generic PnP monitor' issue

    Hello Angelica,

    I would suggest you follow steps to update the monitor driver:

    Press Windows + X keys

    Choose Device manager

    Click on Monitors

    Right click on ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and click on update driver

    Tap on Browse my computer for driver software

    Tap on Let me pick from a list of available drivers

    Choose ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and tap on Next

    When you are done please restart the computer.

    I tried updating drivers, un and reinstall them didn't work. When I run the troubleshoot it says I have a GENERIC AUDIO DRIVER issue....anybody have any suggestions to how I can fix this?

    I just upgraded to Windows 10. It reads my monitor as generic. The generic drivers don't work. My display is way off any ideas.

    Hi,

    I suggest you to update the graphic card driver by following the steps below:


    • Press Windows key + X and select
      Device Manager
      .

    • Expand Display Adapters.

    • Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.

    • Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.
    Also, suggest you to install any pending updates available and restart the PC and check for status.

    Let us know the status of the issue in regards display. Your reply is important to assist you further.
