    Delayed Write Fail on Windows 10


    Hi,


    I encountered this error message when trying to save a pdf file using PDF-Xchange Viewer:


    Windows was unable to save all the data for the file <file>. The data has been lost. This error may be caused if the device has been removed or the media is write protected.


    This is the first time I encountered this error. Despite the error message, when I opened the file in another pdf viewer, I found that the changes I made to the file was saved. This error also occur with Adobe Reader.


    Can someone help me resolve this error?

    Urgent advice:Windows - Delayed Write Failed

    Ive been getting this message for the past couple of days 'Windows - Delayed Write Failed' I also get some text with this saying that a certain file has failed to save and now the data is lost so save it in another place.

    Ive been looking about to find a solution as a format did not solve it! Ive tried disabling 'write caching' like some have said on other sites and Ive also tried some methods suggested by Micro$oft, but still no luck *Frown Delayed Write Fail on Windows 10 :(

    Ive updated all the Via chipset drivers and SATA / IDE drivers *Confused Delayed Write Fail on Windows 10 :confused:

    What can I try next???

    Windows 10 fails to update


    When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

    Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

    I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
