  1. Intro To New W10 Computer

Unfortunately, the user manual for my machine contains only 'how to upgrade' info. Something I would expect as an appendix/addendum to a 'user/operations' manual. I have contacted manufacturer to supply a more comprehensive document (akin to an auto manual).

Hopefully this thread will be my goto as I explore the ins & outs of the 'Beast'.

First (of an unknown, but hopefully, small quantity) -

My previous PC had one drive partitioned C (most everything was on it) and D (small allocation but all full with recovery stuff I suspect). This new machine has a 256 SSD labeled 'Acer (CIntro To New W10 Computer :)' and 2TB labeled 'Data (DIntro To New W10 Computer :)'. I really do not understand the drive configuration, all new to me. These past few days it seems data saved (downloaded images, documents, music, etc.) is being stored on the C drive because the free space on it decreases and the D remains unaffected. Do I take this to mean the D acts primarily similar to how I use an external drive (move/store/backup my stuff)? If so, is it possible/wise/advised to configure D to be my 'Library', as it were, and leave C for the OS and programs stuff? What is the lowdown here?

    -thank you

    :)

Cortana intro setting in Lumia phones

Hi, I find the Cortana intro greetings & suggestions e.g. "Oh Hey" "look for funny cat videos" etc. totally dumb. I can't be the only one. I never go to search without already knowing what I want so the suggestions are pointless. I disabled the personalisation
but I would prefer to have no greeting at all. It seems to be targeted at children or bored teenagers. Not busy adults. Cortana has some great functions - syncing between devices - but the intro is plain aggravating! It is not my "friend". I'm quite happy
that it's a machine. I would really like MS to give us an option to disable the intro greetings etc but keep the functionality. I.e. a plain search page. For grown-ups. Please.

how to add contact to new mail in w10

My issue is with W10 new mail. Transferring contacts and (if possible) mail messages from old live mail.

I don't understand the People App?

I cannot see any steps to take me to a contact list on the new mail pages.

I have tried saving from old contacts list , but how to import them?

the references given don't seem to line up with mu window in mail.

Then how to import G-mail address list?
