Windows 10: %temp% in Run menu (Win+R) opens "How would you like to open this file?" instead

As the title says. It used to open the Temp folder fine until I used a "Windows Repair" tool and chose to "Repair Reparse Points". Typing %temp% into Windows Search still works without issues.

WINDOWS ERROR: WIN+R and %temp% when hit, is asking which app shall windows use to open

Yeah, we can open like that, but when the Win+R and temp command asking me to open a file, it was freaking me out.

No, there aren't any embedded spaces in between.

Update: Got the solution, my command was opening a file, even though the variable was pointing to the original location( the temp folder).

What i did was searched for the recently openend files and folders, saw a file in "C:\Users\username" right away deleted the file.

Now Win + r and %temp% is opening the original temp folder.

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?

 

These temp files will not delete

Method 3:

I suggest you to boot the computer to Safe Mode, then perform disk cleanup on Windows 10 and check, if it works.
