Windows 10: Duplicate login on Windows 10 Laptop

I have tried the netplwiz and other methods of removing users so that my screen administrators only shows one user, then again re-confirmed my password so that the laptop will log straight in without prompting but it still comes up with two users on the login screen after a restart.


The second user is the same name but does not have an account icon and it always says the password is wrong despite it not having an account anywhere i can find. None of my passwords work to login to this second user and when i change the user at the bottom left back to my original with the icon i put the PIN in normally and it logs in fine.


All i want to do is turn the laptop on and it load straight to the desktop without password or PIN entry

Try the solutions there especially the 3rd one. I had the same issue before and the 3rd solution from that link solved my problem.

If my suggestion did not solve the issue, please reply back so we can try other step.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Can't login to new computer w/Windows 10

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.
