  1. Windows 10 no longer mirrors to my Roku

I successfully mirrored my Windows 10 laptop to my Roku Streaming Stick 3800R a couple of months ago but now am unable to do so. The problem doesn't appear to be due to outdated drivers mine are current or an intrusive firewall disabling it has no effect. Here's the really weird part: Windows shows me the Roku device in the mirroring control screen, but when I try to connect to it, the Roku on my TV switches to "Starting video from..." and shows a progress bar -- as if I'd been mirroring a specific video earlier, which is not the case. Then, after a few minutes, Windows reports "Couldn't connect."

I've tried removing the Roku device from Windows and then adding it back. I've restarted my laptop and rebooted Roku disconnecting it from the TV as well as from the power source. I contacted Roku support, and they had me reset the network wifi connection, make sure the software is updated, remove and re-add mirroring devices, and even disable/reenable wifi on my laptop. None of these helps.

Has anyone seen this particular symptom, with a display of a nonexistent video already in the process of supposedly being mirrored or viewed? Any suggestions beyond the standard troubleshooting routines?

    Many thanks!

    :)

  2. Unable to mirror to Roku stick

    Hello There,

    I think the
    Roku Support
site would benefit you more with your problem as it seems that the Roku is playing up, not the PC.

But I'm going to extract the things I've read on this Roku Support Page (Roku)

Judging by what you've said, I think the Roku isn't willing to be connected to. This can be for a few reasons.

    • You don't have screen mirroring enabled
    • Go to Settings>System.
    • Go to Screen mirroring (beta).

Ensure that "Enable screen mirroring" is checked.

    2. Your Roku device isn't connected to the same network as your device.

    3. Your Roku device might not be updated to the latest firmware

    Settings>System>System update

    4. You've got Roku 1 (But you've got a Roku Stick so ignore this)

Good Luck and please reply on if this helped Windows 10 no longer mirrors to my Roku :) (Sorry this is all in bold, my computer is playing up.)

Unable to Screen Mirror Windows 10 to Roku Television.

    Hi Summaro,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Summaro, I would suggest you to completely remove your Roku TV from the computer by going to
Settings > Devices > Click on your Roku TV > Then, click on
    Remove Device.

Also, remove your computer from your TV if you see the computer name on your computer.

Then, follow the steps mentioned in the section How do I screen mirror from my Windows device? from

How to Use Screen Mirroring with your Windows Device
and screen mirror your Windows 10 computer to your Roku TV.

You may also try to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by going to
    Settings
    > Update and Security > Troubleshoot and run the
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and see if this helps.

    Hope it helps.

Let us know if you got the help you needed by clicking Yes or No.
