  1. Screen goes black. Computer running normally otherwise. Happens at random intervals...

Laptop's been doing this on/off for the past several weeks. Screen goes black at random. Cannot be recovered through ALT-F4/CTRL-ALT-DELETE etc. Have to restart several times for issue to go away. The laptop runs fine otherwise during the black screen YouTube plays normally, I'm still logged into an online server, etc.

The most recent Windows Update that was forced on me!!! did not solve anything. Have updated Graphics Card Drivers GTX 1070 to latest version.

    Computer Black Screen

I normally leave my computer run 24/7 but lately the computer has to be rebooted daily because it does the following:

    • Becomes unresponsive with a black screen
    • Network link goes down when this happens
    • Computer can't be revived and simply has to be rebooted.

Event logs show NOTHING when this happens and I know the rough time when it happens because I have nagios monitoring my network including this computer and it tells me when it looses internet, etc.

I've replaced the video card with a brand new one yet this still happens. I'm thinking it has to be a bad PSU or mainboard but I'm unsure what to do to resolve it.

  3. Screen goes black while running windows 10

basically while running my desktop computer it will at random go black screen at different intervals of 10-15mins/30-45, at this point and time I have gone into safemode to find my generic Pnp Driver to have problems as it has the "yellow triangle" over
said driver and after reading a online article saying to uninstall it and restart hoping to fix it it did not the other thing is that when I'm on normally the same generic pnp driver is fine.

    can anyone help me

Screen goes black if the power cord is connected

    Hi Tony,

As the screen goes black I suggest you to refer the Microsoft article on
Troubleshoot black screen problems and check if it helps.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/troubleshoot-black-screen-problems

I also see that you are facing issues with the keyboard this might be due to the corruption of keyboard drivers. I suggest you to run the
hardware and devices troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps for the same.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter. Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key + X, select Control panel.
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
    • Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.
    • Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.
Hope this information is helpful. Please get back to us with the information required, if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.
