    Hi,

If anyone has any thought about this, welcome for sharing please ..

When I check in eventvwr, I see the message below see pic2. It sounds to me unplanned restart by the system itself but it was actually me user initiated the restart. It mention "RunTimeBroker.exe", has the BSOD caused by this by any chance?

PIN log in without pressing enter

    Windows 10.

I have one PC that I enter my PIN and it logs in without my having to press the "enter" key.
I have another PC that I enter my PIN and then must press "enter" before it logs in.

What do I need to change to get the 2nd PC to log in like the 1st PC (not having to press enter)?

    Thanks

  3. PIN log in without pressing enter

Yup, with a 4 digit PIN on my old Dell, it doesn't require enter.

Thanks for that info, good to know. My true curiosity though is why a 5 digit PIN on my MSI funtions without enter but not on the Dell. *Smile

    UPDATE!

I found the answer at least for my Dell, thanks Andre. If I had followed your directions a bit closer, it would have worked the first time.

I switched my PIN to a numeric only 6 digit and made sure the 'include letters and symbols' isn't selected. Now I simply enter the numeric 6 digit PIN and no enter required. *Smile I was using an alpha-numeric PIN.

    Hi Groggubus,

Welcome to the 10forums WIndows10 - BSOD - "press Enter to begin" logged in Windows normally see attached snapshot pic1 :)

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
    2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

WIndows10 - BSOD - "press Enter to begin" logged in Windows normally see attached snapshot pic1 [IMG]

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

Please follow this suggestion for the BSOD
    1. Please open BitDefender and go to the modules,
    2. Go to the firewall settings,
    3. Uncheck 'Block port scans in the network',
    4. Reboot your system <-- IMPORTANT
