Maybe someone here can help me with missing files from my Sims game? Yea, desperate

To start, I have windows 10 on my dell laptop.

So here’s some backstory: I’ve been playing the sims 4 since it came out so almost 5-6 years now. I have never had something like this happen. The game has a mod folder, in that folder I made sub folders for custom content such as hair and clothing. The last time I played was around 5 days ago. Friday 1/22 I had to update the game due to a patch release. This happens very often. Did my update, game worked but I didn’t play. Shut my computer and didn’t go to play until today 1/24.

So I open the game and all my mods are gone. I close the game and go into my files where the mods are and they have disappeared. When I try to click opened one of the folders that are pinned as favorites, this message comes up. Then, when I try to move the pinned folder to my desktop, this message comes up.

From what I understand, the files are corrupt. I went and attempted a system file check scan as administrator. The results stated that there were corrupted files and that they were repaired. However, no such luck with my game mods. The same messages continue to come up.

If there is any ideas on how to fix this please please help me out.

  2. The Sims 4 Gaming problem

    Hi Fiona,

The issue might cause if the game is compatible with Windows 10. So I suggest you to install the game in compatibility mode by following the steps provided below:

    • Download the setup files for the game from the manufacturer website and save it on your local disk.
    • Right click on the setup file of the game and select
      “Properties”.
    • Select “Compatibility” Tab.
    • Place a check mark next to“Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.
    • Let the game install and then check thefunctionality.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on the status for further assistance.
