    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    2004 update and XP shares

    Tried all of the above, still can't get to the XP drive.

    Yesterday I tried the 2004 update on my Dell XPS15 after cloning the SSD.

    When it first came up on 2004 it could connect to the XP drive. Then it automatically applied 2 additional updates and rebooted. The problem re-appeared, can't connect to the XP drive and file explorer just hangs. The 2 updates I see are 2020-05 and 2020-06.
    KB4552925 & KB456100.

    Uninstalling these before caused stability problems where the pc wouldn't boot. So, I may just have to restore the image backup I made before updating or use the cloned SSD. Good thing I created these before updating again. I'll wait a few hours before trying
    that in case you have other suggestions.

    This time I am getting an error to check the spelling of the drive name with error 0x80070079. The drive shows as mapped as it did before the update. I am also unable to right click and disconnect it.
