Windows 10: How to use Groove with the latest version of Cortana?

I am using the latest version of Cortana and want to play my music from it. But if I ask to play a song, it just says, "I'm sorry, I can't control your music here." I tried to find solutions in microsoft support, but all support pages, for example, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/make-cortana-yours-65a82935-19a4-1e05-d56a-6e7421c6f794#:~:text=To%20get%20to%20Cortana's%20Notebook,the%20taskbar%2C%20then%20select%20Notebook%20. and https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/play-music-with-cortana-93c06445-f323-293d-8fa5-aa1c8c9fb9bc only speak about Cortana's notebook, which has been removed in the latest version 2.2102.8653.0 of Cortana. Please help.


And can I play music from Groove using this version? The sites I showed only spoke of Spotify, which isn't used by me. I would like if Cortana could be more productive.

Hi Al,

Since the issue persist, please check the troubleshooting steps on how to reset Groove player:

• Type Settings to your Cortana.
• Go to Apps.
• Look for Groove.
• Click Reset.

Cortana not playing music in Groove Music

I've been using this feature without issue for a long time but since a couple of days I'm experiencing this too on my lumia 950xl. As others have mentioned, the suggested solutions are geared towards PC users and not suitable for Mobile. Is there a solution
to this for windows 10 mobile? I'm running the latest version and there hasn't been a groove, cortana or windows update between the time that this worked and stopped working.
