  1. Windows 10 activation failed Windows 8 key

A few years ago I built a PC, bought a Windows 8 core key through retail, activated it, and then upgraded to Windows 10. A few days ago I finished building a new PC and attempted to use the same key to activate Windows 10, figuring that since I had already done that upgrade it would be fine. After installing Windows, putting my old HDD in the new computer and formatting it, I noticed an "activate windows" message had appeared in the lower corner. Going into the activation section in settings and re-entering the key gives me error code 0x803FA067.

I'm guessing they give you a new key after the upgrade, a key which is now irretrievable. Is my only option to install 8 and then redo the upgrade process on the new machine? That would work, right?

    :)

  2. Installing Windows 10 using Windows 7 key

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.

    windows 8 activation key

You can use a Windows key as many time as you want provided it's only on one computer at a time. If the automated activation fails, just call the number it provides. Six minutes later, you're activated again. If it asks you how many computers it's on, just say "one" and you're golden.
