Windows 10: TotalLock.exe

Hi All

I recently retired and have a few personal documents saved on an encrypted memory stick issued by work public sector.

I have just bought a new lap top and need to transfer files from the stick to the new laptop.

However when I tried, Microsoft is saying that it does not support this and I need turn off S mode and if I do security would be compromised and I can't switch back if I do ??.

As you no doubt can tell, I'm not IT savvy hence the the long question and too much background.


Could anyone advise how I get these files from the memory stick to the new laptop ?


Any advice would be welcome.

It is possible that you .exe is not working due to corrupted system files or account. To assist you better, kindly answer the following questions:

• Does this happen with a specific application or with all of your application?
• Have you tried creating a new admin account to check if the issue also with new account or only with the current account?

To assist you better, I would like to ask if you have installed any Antivirus in the Laptop.

I suggest you to run the program in compatibility mode by following the steps provided below and check if the issue persist.

• Right click on the “.exe” file of the program and select properties.
• Under Compatibility tab, check the option for “Run in Compatibility mode”.
• Select the Operating System from the drop down list.
• Click on Apply and OK.
