I hate this about Windows at the moment. Why do I have to choose between having an ugly 1px grey border around windows or an ugly white title bar on unselected windows when everything else is dark mode. It looks terrible.

I don't see why they aren't separate options in settings?

    Title Bar Colours

In the Windows Registry, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM
in the right pane , create a new DWORD (32-bit Value) and name it AccentColorInactive
either copy the color from 'AccentColor' or enter your desired color in hexadecimal format.
Close the Windows Registry, interact with any new open window to see the immediate effects.

(If you have windows with borders, such as with 'AeroLite' Theme, the borders will dim, text may dim and buttons will loose their color and opacity but the title bar color itself will remain undimmed.)

Independent taskbar and window border colours?

One of the things I find most annoying about Windows 7, being a long-time XP user, is the lack of independent colour settings for the various GUI elements, for example, the taskbar, active window title bar and active window border colours are not separately settable. I see no reason whatsoever why this has to be so - XP offered far, far more flexibility in this respect.

As far as I can see, we still have the same situation with Windows 10. It appears to be impossible to have the taskbar a different colour to the active window title bar and border. It is even impossible to get the taskbar to be a solid colour - it is always transparent. There is not even a Windows 7-like opacity control. A massive step backwards in user personalisation control.

And why doe the window border have to be so thin? I can hardly see it at all.

  4. Is there no way to have no 1px border but have coloured title bars?

1px border is still active around apps after turning the off.

hi there I'm on windows 10 version 2004. I noticed 1px border is active around apps even though I have title bars and borders turned off in the settings app. I used to have similar problem on version 1903, except it goes away when tick title bars and borders on
and off. Please how do I solve this issue?
