  2. Access Denied for new volume d and cannot share the files to someone. How to reset all the permissions for volume/partition?

    I'm using windows 10 home and the partition volume d is not giving me access to share the files or use it. i cannot access the software and all the multimedia inside it. I need help for resetting all the permissions for the folders or basically the entire

    Please reply to few more questions:


    • Is the D: drive located on the same hard disk or on different hard disk?

    • Did you have any important data saved on the
      D:
      drive?


    If the D: is saved on another hard disk and you are unable to access it, I suggest you to format the drive completely and check if the issue is resolved.



    To format the hard disk, follow the steps below:




    • Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
      Disk management option.

    • Right click on the D: drive and select
      Format option.

    • Wait for the formatting to complete and check if the changes are effective.

    As you are facing issues with privileges to access the local account, I suggest you to try the below and check if it helps.

    • Please be informed us the troubleshooting steps you have already tried.

    This issue might be due to some error in system settings.

    If you have not yet tried the below steps, I suggest you to perform and check if it helps.

    Step 1: I suggest you to log out from the current user account, restart the computer and log-in with the administrator account and check if you are able to access the local drivers.

    If the issue still persists,

    Step 2: I suggest you to place the computer in safe mode, try to log-in with administrator account and check if the issue persists.

    Try the above steps and reply to the post with an updated status of this issue, we will be happy to assist you further.
