Windows 10: Windows Refuse To upgrade to new VersionUpdateassistant and media creation tool failed

After Disabling the windows update service for a long time I reenabled it to update to the latest version, I Enabled Stopupdates10guard unknowingly and I had a hard time troubleshooting and researching until this article helped me out https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/121659/how-to-enable-windows-update-medic-service-and-win.html


And I was able to check for updates again and download it, I was able to download and install all those cumulative updates or what they are called, I also successfully downloaded the feature update to 20h2 but while it was installing, it keeps crashing at above 70% and says windows update failed retry, I retried several times but same Issue, I tried using the update assistant tool But it says I don't have permission to write to the installation folder, Used update troubleshooter but it couldn't fix the problem, then I used Media creation tool to upgrade but it failed when installing after downloading and said it couldn't install windows.

I really don't know what to do right now but the update assistant should give a clue though of what the installation is if you look at it, I couldn't figure it out. So I need help I want to update my PC and feel the new look please.

You might face this issue if the downloaded setup file is corrupted.

• Did you try to download the setup again?
• Did you try to upgrade through Windows Update?

First, I would suggest you to try updating through Windows Update and check if you are able to upgrade to Windows 10. If you are unable to upgrade through Windows Update, then I would suggest you to download the Windows 10 ISO again and save it locally
on the desktop and then try to run the upgrade.
