Just updated Windows today and found out it got rid of my Bluetooth drivers somehow. Bluetooth doesn't show up in the action center anymore, I can't turn it on in settings, and it's completely disappeared from the Device Manager. Help!

    :)

Bluetooth No Longer In Device Manager

Last night, I had a bluetooth keyboard connecting perfectly to my Lenovo AIO 700 (as it had done since I brought it a few weeks ago). This morning, there was no bluetooth connection.

Checked settings - bluetooth not listed as an option. Checked Services.msc and changed bluetooth options to "automatic". Ran driver updates through device manager and was getting "code 45" on all of them (icons were greyed-out but showing under the bluetooth
node). I uninstalled all drivers and restarted and, since that point, there are no bluetooth drivers ANYWHERE in device manager (including in hidden files). I have done:

    • A system restore
    • A full system reset
    • Cmd prompts:
    • dism /online /cleanup_image /restorehealth
    • sfc /scannow
    • Hardware troubleshooter x2
    • Upgraded BIOS from Lenovo website (although nothing in my BIOS - old or new -that relates to bluetooth anyway that I can see)
Basically, I have done everything I can find online and I am getting nowhere... Tried to speak to Windows support but requested call from them twice and they never called. Looks like the hardware is no longer installed for some reason but I can't get it
to pick it back up again. Only other thing of note is that in device manager/universal serial bus controllers I have a yellow exclamation mark next to "unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" which I have tried to uninstall several times but
keeps reappearing with the same description.

    Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks!

Deleted all of Bluetooth in Device Manager

Did you mean that the BT entry in Device manager is hidden? There should be a Bluetooth section within which your Bluetooth adapter should be identified by name [Intel, in my case]. Here's an example.

Bluetooth no longer showing up in Device Manager. [IMG]
If the adapter entry is 'hidden', it means that Device manager no longer detects its presence. My own Device manager no longer greys out 'hidden' devices so I have to set-unset the Show hidden devices entry to check which are 'hidden' and which are not.
    I suggest you -
1 Check in your Bios for any enable/disable setting for it.
2 Get your Service manual and check the hardware itself [post #9].

I'd still like to know exactly what you did.

Bluetooth Driver Disappears from Device Manager and Settings/Devices

    Hi,

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern regarding the issue that you are facing.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

    Method 1: Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Drive. Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
    • Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter

You may follow the steps and check if it helps in resolving the issue, as the device might be hidden.

    • Press Windows key + X.
    • Click on Device Manager.
    • Click on View.
    • Click on Show Hidden Devices.
    • Search for the Bluetooth device.
    • Right click on the Bluetooth device and click
      uninstall.

Hope this information was helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist
