Windows 10: C:\pagefile.sys keeps growing a lot when I am running a game

Hi, I am Aliyev Abdulqadir, an Azerbaijani Windows User, and I got a question about Microsoft Windows 10, with the file pagefile.sys.Beginning somewhere in February 2022, I was running out a lot of gigabytes from my C: drive, or, a main system drive.I was checking the properties of absolutely any folder on the C: root drive, none of them was growing this much.I then enabled Show protected system files and folders, and I found that the only file was "eating" so much disk space was pagefile.sys on the C: drive.When I was running a game, it was growing for the time being, even when the system is

How do I defrag my C: pagefile .sys my O&O Degrag Prof states that the files is 32G with a 97.71 degree of relative fragmentation?

 

Clear Pagefile on Shutdown


I've been looking into clearing the pagefile, and I found the following steps at a somewhat dated webpage:

1. In the registry editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
2. Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown to the REG_DWORD value of 1.
3. Restart Windows.

I'm just wondering whether those steps are still valid, and, if so, does clearing the pagefile work as advertised?

I would suggest you to refer the below link and check the compatibility of the game with Windows 10.

You may also try installing the game in compatibility mode.
Follow these steps to install the game software in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

        Right-click on the game setup file and click on
        ‘properties’.

        Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
        ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
        

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to get in touch with the game manufacturer if it’s specific to that particular game.
