Windows 10: Black screen follows login after update with KB5037591

Lenovo Legion went to black screen after windows login today. Screen was completely black, no icons, task bar, or start menu. Ctrl-alt-del works, bringing up a task manager menu, but nothing else. Finally was able to enter safe mode and roll back quality update KB5037591, and problem was resolved. Drivers are current, and this happened with the previous April quality update as well. How do I prevent this from happening again?

• Does black screen appear when you before user login’s or after user has logged in ?
  
• Does black screen appears when you lock your pc?

This problem occurs because of a change in the behavior of Win Logon and Logon UI. This change introduces the potential for the deadlock.

I would also suggest you to install all the updates available for the system and check if it helps.
