Windows 10: On my Surface Studio Laptop, W11, the Display Rotation lock is grayed out set ON.

Troubles rife on my Surface Studio Laptop recently. This time, within Windows Settings, under Display, the Display Rotation Lock is grayed out and is set ON. Can't seem to find a way to fix this. I'm trying to keep Sketchbook Pro 9 from crashing becoming unresponsiveand lagging, and there is plenty of memory to run it. Windows Diagnostic tool suggested that the sensors that recognize the three possible positions of the screen are not working. Then tried finding sensors drivers ... all up to date. Refused updating.No error issues. Have used this program for years.I don't know if this is a

The option may have grayed out due to a recent update or change that was done on your computer. As our initial troubleshooting step, we recommend that you set your computer to Portrait mode by following the steps below.

• Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
• Select System, and then Display.
• Under the Orientation option, select Portrait.
• The rotation lock should be clickable after following these steps.

You might see if you may be able to use an option in the tutorial below to turn on rotation lock, The note boxes within the steps have options to try when the "Rotation lock" setting is grayed out that may help.

Surface Book - Windows 10 : Auto screen rotation missing

Hello -

I also had this same problem (locked in landscape mode, no Rotate Lock/Unlock button, Surface wouldn't auto-rotate). Multiple restarts alone (with or without the keyboard) did not fix it. I was able to restore the Rotation Lock icon (and auto-rotate) with
the following steps:

• Remove the surface keyboard (while on)
• Manually set the display to portrait (Settings --> System --> Display --> Orientaton (portrait)
• Restarted the Surface

After my device restarted, the Rotation Lock icon was back and my Surface would auto-rotate again.

This has only happened to me once and this was the only fix that worked for me (other options mentioned in the forums didn't work). I hope that helps!
