Windows 10: Touchpad not working, Dell XPS 17

So I have had this Dell XPS 17 for about 4 years now, and recently the touch pad has been giving me issues, being notably laggy, until today when the device crashed randomly due to memory issues which were resolved, and upon restart, the cursor never appeared again, and the touchpad was no longer doing anything. I have tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, restarting the computer multiple times, looking for updates there are none, everything says it is updated, disabling cursor suppression in the Registry, going to touchpad settings it says it's enabled, and using the hardware

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop


Hello everyone,
My laptop's touchpad works and I don't want it to, because I prefer a mouse. It's a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series on windows 10 OS.

What I have tried that hasn't worked:

• start<settings<devices<mouse & touchpad<additional mouse options. This opens a window called Mouse Options which has 5 tabs up top, none of which involve the touchpad. The Hardware tab shows 2 devices: the mouse itself, and the USB. No touchpad there.
• windows key+x<mobility center. No touchpad to be found.
• various function keys. No options for touchpad on/off.
• device manager<mice and other pointing devices. Again, only the mouse and usb show up. It appears the touchpad is working without a driver, which is a little spooky.

Any other suggestions? I could try downloading a third party driver, but that seems like a step in the wrong direction.

Dell Inspiron 17, 5000 Series Touchpad does not work in Windows 10.

How do I fix it? A USB mouse works but no touchpad.

Also I Click to change Dell Touchpad settings and I get an hour glass symbol but no response.

 

Dell XPS 9570 Touchpad not working

Hi,

I have the new Dell XPS 9570. The touchpad was working fine but after some drivers got updated all gestures and precision tracking has stopped. Now only the left and right click works (no scrolling, no multi-gesture features etc).

Tried uninstalling the drivers and restarting etc. Where can I find the specific drivers for this touchpad?
