Windows 10: Win 11 Taskbar icons get moved into Overflow Menu while there is still space left on the...

Now that Win11 has added the Taskbar Behaviors back it still hasn't resolved having MULTIPLE items open without grouping them or then moving them into the overflow menu while there is still METRIC **** **** TONS OF SPACE LEFT!!!My settings are Taskbar to the LEFT, NEVER group, Why can't I opt to remove label's outside of the grouping function? and then I still have space for about 5-6 taskbar items but it gets moved to this stupid "overflow menu".I have been a Windows user since 3.1 and I have NEVER had such a **** experience with Windows Taskbar as in Win 11. IT is called a TASKBAR FFS!!! I

How do you rearrange icons on the taskbar overflow menu and move them to the main taskbar?

Hello, I'm having a of a time trying to complete the simple task of moving the icons on the taskbar overflow menu. Because there weren't any solutions found in the following community questions Moving icons to main taskbar or Moving icons on taskbar overflow, I'm hoping to find a fix here. If there is not a said fix, MICROSOFT, will you address this in the next update for Windows 11.

 

How To Move Icons From Taskbar Overflow to Main Taskbar in Windows 11

I am a computer enthusiast and have a total (at this time as it always varies) of 8 Windows 11 computers, all of which I use, most everyday. I decided to check them all and in all 8, the Icons on the Taskbar Overflow Menu cannot be moved. They cannot be moved on the Overflow Menu once they are there and the only thing that can be done is to use the Icon to open an application (or whatever the Icon is pointing at) or to remove it from the Overflow Menu.

I believe that Microsoft, which originally did not have this Overflow Menu in Windows 11, and which had removed the possibility of stacking the Taskbar so that as many Icons as the user wished could be placed there, something that had been possible in every Windows Version back to (at least) Windows 95, but decided to take out this for Windows 11, had so many complaints from people like me that wish to have many Icons on the taskbar, that the Overflow Menu was added in order to placate them (and me). But they did not make it so that the Icons could be moved as they can on the regular taskbar.

 

How To Move Icons From Taskbar Overflow to Main Taskbar in Windows 11

In order to move the icons from the Taskbar overflow please right-click on Taskbar > Taskbar settings > other system tray icons > enable the apps you want on the Taskbar overflow.

You can drag and drop the icons on the Hidden icon menu, however, it won't apply to the icons on the main Taskbar.
