Windows 10: My WiFi is constantly intermittent. I must either run network diagnostics to reset the WiFi...

My PC doesn't actually have a NIC and therefore I bought a USB NIC. It's capable of handling 5GHz connections but I'm not sure if it's relevant to my issue. Anyway, the main issue is:My "default gateway" suddenly becomes unavailable after any amount of time. This ranges from 5 minutes, to even 30 minutes. However, it always persists in failing me and at some point will suddenly disconnect. I only began encountering this issue after I changed my router, and it seems to be just my PC that is affected by this intermittent connection. I checked for outdated drivers perhaps not thoroughly enough

WiFi Networks constantly disappearing

I recently moved to college and brought my Windows 10 PC that I have been using for years with no wifi problems, but now I run into this one constantly. My PC will randomly disconnect from the wifi, and when I click on the wireless icon at the bottom-right,
none of the nearby networks are in the list. Turning the wifi off and on again will restore the list and reconnect me, but I have to do this constantly. My drivers are up to date.

 

Intermittent Slow Wifi

Hi All,

On one of my machines, wifi is intermittent. It ocassionaly works well, but mostly is painfull slow, or cannot connect at all. The problem started a couple of weeks ago, before that it was fine.

Speed test over ethernet: ping 8ms, download 36Mbp upload 9Mbps
Speed test over wifi: ping 13ms, download 0.1Mbp upload 0Mbps sometimes just get test error

I've tried to troubleshoot with no success:
-Checked various network settings
-Check wifi adaptor drivers. Remove & reinstall
-Forget network settings & start from sratch
-Checked wifi chip is not turning off due to power options
-Checked TCP/IP settings (IPv4 & IPv6 both set to obtain ip address automatically)
-Netsh winsock reset
-Netsh int ip reset
-Flushed DNS cache
-Changed to open DNS
-Probably a few things else I tried which i've forgotten!

WiFi Drops Intermittently [Solved]

My WiFi was intermittently dropping. Tried nearly all the online suggestions without success,

including solutions relating to the WiFi driver and hardware, installed software. and turning off various settings in the Operating System. Finally, I reinstalled the Intel Chipset driver on the motherboard. This solved the WiFi problem. The laptop computer is a Dell Insprion 17 model 5770 running Window 10.
