  1. Locate and Add Icon Pictures To Folder > Properties > Customization

HelloI located a website years ago that contained literally thousand of Icon Pictures for folder customization.I was able to add more to my version of Windows back then quite successfully and had an amazing looking computer because of them. Now with Windows 11 on this new PC I would like to do the same with it.I have attached some pics of what I am talking about to better illustrate it for all.Can it be done, and how do I add the icons, or do I need a .dll editor to do so?Thanks for any help in advance.

    :)

Correct Directory Location For Pictures Folder

"Now Documents, Videos etc say file location is This PC. But Pictures file location is C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures."

If we understand you correctly, the issue is that Pictures doesn't appear in the left panel under This PC. The correct location IS C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures. This is only an issue of using Step 8 in the tutorial to add it back to the list. See if this screenshot is what you want to achieve- put Pictures folder back in list on L.

Folder properties and icon's picture problem

    Hello Brink,

First of all, thanks for the fast response. Locate and Add Icon Pictures To Folder > Properties > Customization :)

Now, back to the problem, i thought about the restore but also wanted to see if there was another solution.
I tried to do system restore now, but stumbled on another problem which could be seen on this new screenshot

Locate and Add Icon Pictures To Folder > Properties > Customization 41076d1485957829t-folder-properties-icons-picture-problem-system-restore-problem-screenshot.png

I googled this error right now, and went through the steps from Microsoft support forum, first step was to backup COMPONENTS in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, but COMPONENTS is not in registry at all, i guess this is part of the problem, too.

Also I forgot to mention 2 things, first, which probably I should have mentioned in the first post, when i saw icon pictures are missing I restarted PC, and when I did it Win10 installed updates, I hoped that after that all will be well, but I was wrong, sigh.
Second, if you look at the screenshot from the first post, u could see names of the folders and programs, the thing is, now the box of the icons is reduces to just text, to names of the folders and programs, like the picture was not meant to be a part of the icon, e.g. when all is normal and you click on icon's picture and text, it all gets selected/highlighted, but when I do it now I can click only on text, that text gets selected/highlighted, where the picture of the icon was now its just empty space/background, hope I explained this good.*Redface

Picture User Folder vs Library Picture Folder / Add to User folder

    Hi,

Form the issue description, I realize that you are trying to view your pictures in the default pictures library. To do so, you have to change the location of the folder that contains your pictures to the default pictures library folder.

To view your pictures in the default pictures library, I suggest you to follow the steps below.

    • Right-click on the default Picture folder
      and click on Properties.

    • Navigate to Location tab.

    • Click on Move…. and select the folder that contains your pictures and click on
Apply and then click on Ok.

Hope the information helps. Kindly write back to us for further information on Windows. We will be happy to assist you.
