Windows 10: I can ping sites but cannot browse them

This posts has already been made many times and many people have this same issue. The discussions are always closed without a resolution hence why I'm opening another post about the same problem. For me this happens all the time! I don't do anything i don't switch users i've done EVERTHING suggested in all posts and none of them fix the problem. I can be browsing websites and all of a sudden all browsers stop working but i can ping every one of them. Used to I could change my dns from 8.8.8.8 to 1.1.1.1 and clear dns cache and it "MIGHT" work but not so much lately. A reboot of the comput

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Please follow the methods mentioned below:

Method 1: We need to check the status of the Internet Connection on your computer. Please follow the steps and let us know the status.

Follow the steps:

Step 1: Internet Connection troubleshooter.

• Press the Windows Key + W on the keyboard.
• Type troubleshooting in the search box and then press
  Enter.
• Select Troubleshooting. Click on
  view all and select Internet Connections.
• Click next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 2: Perform Network adapter troubleshooter.

• Press Windows Key + W on the keyboard.
• Type troubleshooting in the search tab and press
  Enter.
• Click View all on left panel.
• Click Network Adapter, new window will popup.
• Follow the on screen instructions.

Step 3: Run a ping test and check if any packets are lost. Refer the steps.

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Select Command Prompt (Administrator).
• In Command prompt, type the following command
• Ping www.msn.com
• Check if there are any packets are lost.

Method 2:

Step 1: One of the components of the Internet connection on your computer is a built-in set of instructions called TCP/IP. TCP/IP can sometimes become damaged or corrupted. If
you cannot connect to the Internet and you have tried all other methods to resolve the problem, TCP/IP might be causing it.

Let’s reset the winsock entries and TCP/IP stack and to troubleshoot the issue further.

Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X together and select
  Command Prompt (admin).
• Type the following command and hit Enter after each:
• netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)
• netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)
• Reboot the computer and check.

Step2:
Flush your computer's DNS cache.

• From Start screen, type command prompt.
• Right-click on Command Prompt
  and choose Run as Administrator.
• At the command prompt, type the following commands. Press Enter after each command.

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /registerdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

I can ping sites but cannot browse them

OK.. I have tried a lot of things and still nothing.

In an experiment I tried something that has a weird behavior.

I open a non-elevated command prompt and run a constant ping:

ping -t www.americanexpress.com

and leave it running in the command prompt window.

I then try to surf and it works..

I then stop the constant ping.. and guess what.. I can no longer browse.. I start it again.. and then I can browse again..

Mind you though it only lets me browser partially, some pages yes others load only have way..

Now I know if I restart the computer it will fix it until the next time I switch users.

So tell me if that is not an MS issue somewhere?

I have a windows 10 computer.

I don't know how it happens but I walk away from my computer and hours later come back to work on it and I can ping sites but cannot browser any site until I restart the computer.

I have tried all of the following to no avail.

net start dhcp

net start dnscache

netsh i i r r

Rem Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Rem WINSOCK entries to installation defaults

netsh winsock reset catalog

Rem release and renew IP and DNS

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /registerdns

Rem Flush routing table

route /f

Again, I can ping any site but cannot browse.

I even tried different web browsers and I check for proxy settings and still does it no matter what I tried.

I can restart the computer and it starts working again, but don't know what is causing this issue.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated
