Windows 10: Wifi settings not loading up - unable to use internet or change WIFI

Hello,I have just changed wifi provider, but for some reason my wifi settings have stopped working and I'm unable to fix it. By not working I mean I click on the wifi option in the task bar and the window popup opens and it shows the loading bar but none of the wifi options load up anymore. I have been trying to get it to work for a week or so, tried rebooting the machine several times and nothing fixes it. My laptop is now useless it's not able to change to any wifi connection so using it with the internet is currently no possible, especially as w just changed WIFI provider and I cannot conne

Help with changing wifi password?

That section is for the password you enter to get into the routers settings. You need to go to your WiFi or wireless settings page, look for the security options, and the WiFi password will be listed as either Password, or Key, or WPA Key.

On my router it's the Password (Network Key) block:

 

At my wits end with WiFi

I did the sme, with the WAP, i disabled DHCP, and assigned a static IP (192.168.1.2), the adsl router already has a static ip set. i followed th guide here: Wireless access point - DD-WRT Wiki to a T, both with and without the reccommended/optional steps.

Still no joy, and i still can't get my desktop to see the wifi router, wth default settings and a direct connection. My laptop views the wifi router fine, with default settings.

Ok i figured i missed a step when changing to the DD-WRT firmware. I didn;t upgrade to the latest version. i'm doing that now, and i'll try to set it up again.

Don't know if you have tried this, but this is my suggestion:

Settings >Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage Wi-Fi Settings
Go to the settings under the Wi-Fi Sense heading
Turn off "Connect to suggested open hotspots"
and/or
Turn off "Connect to networks shared by my friends"
