    Unique situation with files space not adding up to occupied space on the disk


    Usually when files don't add up to drives actually used it is suggested to check apps like TreeSize, but in my case it still doesn't show over 2GB of used space. The drive is 40GB, over 36GB of it is being used according to WindowsExplorer, but according to apps it should be only 34 instead. I used Spacesniffer and it shows 400 MB more than TreeSize, but still not everything. Any suggestions on what is going on? Sorry for non-English screenshots.

    Disk Space Vanishes by Uninstalling files improperly

    Thank you for all your research!!!! But I was having a near look around before my diskspace vanished. I have around 15Gb free space at that moment, then i figure out there are plenty of old nvidia drivers which are stored in file repository inside C: Drive which occupied tons of spaces, nearly 13-15GB, so i managed to delete those through Cmd commands guided by one technical site. Then what i can see was, all those old nvidia drivers were gone, i mean deleted, but it doesn't add up to my free space. I tried different diskcleanup softwares, but nothing worked. Due to unmanaged deletion of those files, although the files are deleted, system still presumes that the file are there( i think).

    Unknown files occupying space

    My laptop has space issues. The SSD has 237 space capacity, using around 110gb of space, but there is/are unknown files occupying space. I have tried all possible solutions, deleted windows.old folder, deleted all system restore files, limited space usage
    by system restore, and checked windows cleanup i also noticed that this space became occupied when i restored the computer to an earlier version, and it increased when i tried to undo the restoration.

    I am using window 10 2004.

    Lot of space is occupied by operating system

    Hi JVNRao,

    I suggest you to follow the steps of this
    article     in order to launch disk cleanup that can be very useful in your situation, select the drive you want to clean and run the app.

    Then I also reccomend you to read this
    guide     to free up drive space in Windows 10.
