    Unable to update Windows 11 from 22H2 to 23H2? Error Code 0xc0000005


    Every time I try to do a windows update, I get an install error error code - 0xc0000005. This is the same error for when I update through settings, and even when I try to do a manual update with an iso file, and the msu file. Is this a common error?Motherboard: PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4MS-7D25 Version 1.0

    Unable to update Window 11, version 23H2, 2024-1 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Window 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5033920)

    Unable to turn on windows feature legacy components, directplay. After searching for required files, it turned out having the same error code. It also stated an error has occured. Not all of the features were successfully changed.

    Three failure updates stated the install error - 0x800700c1, have been searching for solution but none work.

    Can't update/repair Windows 11 22H2 to 23H2

    Trying to resolve a number of issues with my son's computer, successfully having some bad RAM replaced by the manufacturer. There are a number of things off with windows, such as not being able to get msconfig to run, microsoft store not opening, and windows update not running properly. For windows update, I get:

    • Windows 11, version 23H2 - install error 0x8007371b
    • 2024-04 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5036620) - Install error - 0x80070002

    I have tried to update the windows installation while keeping the apps. I created Windows 11 23H2 bootable USB, and when running the installation, I get a "0xC1900101 - 0x30018 The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_SPECIALIZE operation" error. I have also run DISM, which fails, and when attempting to view the log file, I get an error "The package repository is corrupted." Any help would be appreciated at this point as I just can't figure out what to try next. Thanks.
