Windows 10: Need MPEG-2 video encoder

I need the MPEG-2 video encoder but when I tried installing it from the Microsoft store but it did not work. How do I get it to work with Windows Media Player Legacy? My laptop is running Windows 11 Home

MPEG-2 encoder is missing

I'm trying to use Windows DVD maker on windows 7 but I can't as it keeps coming up with MPEG-2 encoder is missing but I have only downloaded the operating system today and launched the program.

Any support would be amazing?

From what i have read on Windows DVD Maker is that it does not support MPEG-2.

What are the Files / Formats that Windows DVD Maker it recognizes ?

The types of files which can be burned with Windows DVD Maker is as below:

•Video files: '.asf', '.avi', '.dvr-ms', '.m1v', '.mp2', '.mp2v', '.mpe', '.mpeg', '.mpg', '.mpv2', '.wm', and '.wmv'.

•Audio files: '.aif', '.aifc', '.aiff', '.asf', '.au', '.mp2', '.mp3', '.mpa', '.snd', '.wav', and '.wma'.

•Picture files: '.bmp', '.dib', '.emf', '.gif', '.jfif', '.jpe', '.jpeg', '.jpg', '.png', '.tif', '.tiff', and '.wmf'.

Regarding media on which these types of files can be burned, Windows DVD Maker supports writing on: DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-ROM as long as your DVD Writer unit supports them.

You may have to find a alternative to Windows DVD Maker that supports most files and formats that you are trying to edit / burn / copy or save.

 

mpeg-1 layer 2 not playing audio

Created an MP4 video file using the mpeg-1 layer 2 selection in Media Encoder but none of the windows players will play the audio, yet VLC does. Help??
