Windows 10: external hard drive's holders/files recovery help needed!

Hi,My external hard drive is named "d". There are few folders in this "d", which was labelled as "ELEMENT". In the midst of all these folders, I found out that one of the folders name "A" here for easy reference later is not accessible with the message : "d: \is not accessible Data error cyclic redundancy check" while other folders are doing good, which means I'm accessible to all other folders except this particular folder A.Then I performed a task under command prompt with this instruction: " c:\users\user>chkdsk d:/f/r/x". The whole operation took about 48 hours to compl

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

I would suggest you to plug in hard drive then check in disk management you can see the drive or not.

Follow the steps to check Drive in Disk Management.

• 
  Go to the Control Panel then click on the
  Administrative Tools. .
  
• 
  Under the Administrative Tool Click on Computer Management.
  
• 
  Click on Disk Management and check the External Hard Drive.
  

Also check in BIOS whether External Hard Drive is listed or not.

For help with the BIOS settings, refer to the computer manual or contact the manufacturer.

If it doesn’t work then, I would suggest you to update BIOS for updating BIOS contact Lenovo Support.

saving and viewing files on an external hard drive

Yes, you may format the external hard drive. Follow the below steps.

• 
  Connect the external hard drive to Windows 10 computer.
  
• 
  Press Windows + E keys on the keyboard to the keyboard to open the file explorer.
  
• 
  Locate the external hard drive on left navigation pane in File explorer.
  
• 
  Right click on the external hard drive and click on
  Format.
  
• 
  Click Start and follow on screen instructions to format the hard drive.
