    Dear Julius Greger,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

Thank you for bringing to our attention the issue with your DVD drive, which is showing 0 bytes occupied and 0 bytes free when using an empty DVD. This could be due to a variety of factors, including potential issues with the DVD drive’s drivers or the DVD itself. Let’s collaborate to troubleshoot this issue.

Here are a few steps you can take:

    • Update or Reinstall DVD Drive Drivers: In the DVD drive’s Properties window, under the “Driver” tab, you have the option to update or reinstall the driver. Click “Update Driver” to automatically search for driver updates. If no updates are found, you can select “Uninstall Device”, then restart your computer to allow Windows to reinstall the driver.
    • Check for Firmware Updates: Please visit the manufacturer’s website for your DVD drive and check for any available firmware updates. Installing the latest firmware can help resolve compatibility and performance issues.
    • Try Different Empty DVDs: Certain brands or types of DVDs may not be correctly recognized by some DVD drives. We recommend trying different brands or types of empty DVDs to see if the issue persists.
    • Test in Another Computer: If possible, please test the empty DVDs in another computer with a different DVD drive. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your computer or the DVDs themselves.

If any part of this process is unclear, or if you believe I may have misunderstood your problem, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

  4. DVD AD-7585H 0 byte belegt 0 byte frei

DVD shows 0 bytes on inserting a movie DVD on Windows 10.

Original Title: DVD shows 0 bytes

    Hello,

I just got a new ASUS zenbook yesterday (windows 10, 64-bit), and an external dvd writer. Tried the DVD writer out and my movie DVD showed 0 bytes out of 4.19GB. Thinking that the DVD writer has some issues, I went to get another today (ASUS
brand, windows10 compatible), and the same issue still persists.

Is anyone also facing the same issue with DVD showing 0 bytes?
