Windows 10: PC crashes when headphones connect / disconnect

Whenever I accidentally disconnect my headphones, the whole computer crashes for 3-5 seconds, and when I plug them in again it crashes for what seems like a minute. This didn't happen on my old PC. Speakers and headphones work at the same time
