I have a folder that Windows 10 sees as a file. Not sure how that happened. What to do?

Suffice it to say, your issue was certainly not caused by "an errant gamma ray or (one or another)/several alphabet agency/ies", simply something happened that you do not yet understand.

While numerous things can affect the objectid, knowing and understanding all of them can be a bit of an undertaking.

You may want to start your journey of understanding and possibly repairing your errant object, by starting with perusing the surrounding documentation concerning the
    Fsutil objectid command.

GPU-Z what command line parameter ?

Suggestion: /? (-?) and /help (-help) command-line arguments to show a list of all possible arguments in a small window. *Smile fsutil objectid command - How to find a file by its object id :)

Does FSUTIL not support international character sets?

When I use the FSUTIL utility to list hardlinked files the utility doesn't return the original characters, it seems to convert them into a pseudo-European character set. Like for example, if I'm trying to list a file with Chinese, or Korean letters in it, it converts them into something else.

This is the command I would use:

fsutil hardlink list "c:\dir1\dir2\filename_<with Korean or Chinese or other characters>.txt"

The output would be something like this:

    c:\dir1\dir2\filename_???? ?????? ???.txt

    c:\dir1\dir3\filename_???? ?????? ???.txt

    c:\dir4\dir5\filename_???? ?????? ???.txt

Is there a way to fix this?
