Windows 10: Lost Data after Booting into New OS

I lost all the file and things which were in the Volume H after the boot of new os installation I tried Data Recovery Software to retrieve the Data which I lost it’s paid after some days I tried to recover even it is paid now it’s showing the data and file names which I saw earlier when I ran the Data Recovery Software Please Help me with this !!

Lost the Seagate...

The drive seems to be completely dead, my computer will not boot if I have it connected...to the windows cd or the new installation on the F1 drive (which is the boot drive now by the way)

Thanks for the above article, im booting into Vista: U 64 right now, I cant follow those steps if the drive is in, it will lock up before it gets that far or if its not a cold boot the drive does not appear on the list.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that it's a WD My Passport that failed on you, @tomhenry ! *Frown
I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with it and see if that will help your system to detect it without it disconnecting.
I'd also suggest you to go to Disk Management and see how the drive is listed there. It won't hurt to check up on the health and SMART status of the HDD by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. lost data

In 2012 I got a new pc with Windows 7, this was recently up-graded to Windows 10 with the "free up-grade".

Unfortunately within two weeks the ssd (Corsair sata 3 ssd 120gb) stoped working with no backup or boot disk available.

The pc has a second drive (Samsung hd103sj 1000gb) I occasionally use this drive to transfer files from the ssd to free up space

but no os.

The first problem with the ssd was a boot massage "reboot and select proper boot deevice.........." after trying many on-line

suggestions to fix this all failed and two other pcs did not load the drive.

I assume the ssd is completely dead with all data and os lost. (wiping away a tear.)

So my question, when i install a new ssd can I get a Windows 7/10 reinstall disk using the old licence key on the pc case to

activate or will I have to get a pc builders Windows disk and a new licence key.
