    Sharing files from file explorer not working through Outlook


    When I try to share a file from File Explorer via email using Outlook a window opens rather than taking me to Outlook on my computer. Outllook appears as an option but when I select it, it doesn't take me to Outllook. Instead it gives me a limited number of people's contacts that I can send it to. When I use this option the mail doen't get delivered. - I tried sending to myself It also says sending PDF from 'my son's name' instead of mine in the subject line for some reason.

    Outlook PST File Problem

    That is exactly what I was going to suggest. Export everything to another PST file, delete the old(or rather move it out of the default folder) and replace it with the new PST file that you exported.

    Outlook PST File Problem

    Thanks again everyone. I just did an export on the troubled PST file to create a new PST file from it and the file size went from 3.9GB down to 850MB. Then I installed the new PST file into Outlook that I just created and removed the old PST file from Outlook and all seems to be working fine so far. I think I am good now, but I will give it some time just to make sure there are no problems before I delete the old file. Thanks again.

    I understand that you have an issue in sharing your file explorer files. Let's work together and find the best fix for the issue.

    Allow me to ask the following:

    • What type of Windows license are you using? (Windows Home, Pro or Enterprise)
    • What are the steps you have taken so far?
    Here are the steps that you follow:

    Method A. Restart the PC

    Method B. Enable Sharing via Control Panel

    • Go to Search type Control Panel
    • Select the Network and Sharing
    • Click on Change advanced sharing settings
    • Under the private, make sure to turn on file and printer sharing
