Hey all! It's about Ctrl-Shift-X and Ctrl-Shift-C.The keypresses get registered fine directly after starting the computer and logging in, but they stop working properly a couple seconds after logging on, like 10-20 seconds or so.I used this website to diagnose keystrokes: https://w3c.github.io/uievents/tools/key-event-viewer.htmlThis is what I see after logging in and when I test it on other computers:https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/znzfr2g28a01anlcha04k/keystrokes_fine.png?rlkey=eozvz5xl3004hqg7cuq7bybgl&st=1rwc47qn&dl=0After some time, the shortcut stops working and this is what I see:

  2. Keyboard does not work in safe mode.

So I just built a brand new gaming pc, and there was a black screen on the monitor because I didn't plug it into the graphics card and instead on the IO shield. I decided to turn the pc onto safe mode but then I realized I plugged the hdmi into the wrong place. I fixed the graphics card issue but my pc is still in safe mode. After I log into the computer and try to type in the bottom left box to turn safe mode off, the keyboard doesn't work. I then tried going to update and security but the tab just crashed. Could anyone explain how to fix this in easy steps because I am sort of a newbie to pc building.

  3. Keyboard shortcuts not working from external keyboard

    Hello,Suzi Dapo

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

Based on your description, I presume you are only having the problem with some of the shortcuts not working if you are using an external keyboard connected via usb. Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding you in any way.

Open the on-screen keyboard by typing "OSK" in the search bar at the bottom and check if it works using the failed shortcuts. If it works, we believe that this is indeed an issue that only occurs on the standalone keyboard.

Since you mentioned that these shortcuts used to work, but have recently stopped, have you performed any actions such as installing third-party applications, updating the BIOS, system updates, etc. in the process?

Then we also need to go through a step-by-step test to finally deduce the problem:

    • Please go to Safe Mode first to check if the problem still exists in Safe Mode.
    • We recommend you to go to the manufacturer's website of the external keyboard to download the latest version of the driver for the corresponding model and overlay it on the system to check the problem.

Give it a try and feel free to contact me in the forums with any developments.

Keyboard does not work in safe mode.

I have tried those steps but for the fourth it says it does not work in safe mode. I think I'll try the system restore, and if that doesn't work I'll take it to the store to get it fixed. Thanks so much for the help.
