The built-in speakers of laptops do not sound good. Even if they sound good, they sound low. They are not suitable for watching movies or listening to music. Their peak sound would be effective in only a few environments. That’s why most people connect external or portable speakers to their laptops for better sound. The […]

  2. Laptop's volume is too low

    Hi RAKESH,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

If the volume on your laptop has been consistently low since the day you got it, there are several potential causes and solutions you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Check all the volume controls for your laptop, such as the system tray speaker icon, the media player software, and the physical buttons or knobs on your laptop or speakers. Make sure they are not muted or set to a low level.

    2. Audio driver updates: Outdated or incorrect audio drivers can sometimes cause volume issues. Visit the manufacturer's website or the laptop's support page to download and install the latest audio drivers for your specific laptop model.

    3. Run the Windows troubleshooter to fix low volume issues. You can do this by typing troubleshoot settings in the search box, then selecting Troubleshoot sound problems under Playing Audio².

    4. Check for audio conflicts: Occasionally, conflicts between audio devices or applications can lead to lower volume levels. Try closing any unnecessary applications or disabling unused audio devices to see if it makes a difference.

A "clean boot" starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program. How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

    5. External speakers or headphones: If you're using external speakers or headphones, ensure that they are properly connected and functioning correctly. Test the volume levels with different audio output devices to determine if the issue is specific to your laptop or the external device.

    6. Seek professional assistance: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there might be a hardware problem with your laptop's audio system. In such cases, it's recommended to contact the manufacturer's customer support for further diagnosis and repair.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely

  3. External Speakers . . .

    I have a Dell laptop computer, running Windows 10 Pro . . .

I recently bought a pair of, external speakers.

They plug, right into the USB port . . . And, the headphone jack.

I've had external speakers before, so I knew what to expect.

For some reason? The sound level, is kind of low?

I went into "Sound Settings". And, made sure it was set at, 100%.

I made sure, the volume control, on the speakers was, all the way up too.

But still, the volume wasn't, very high?

After doing, all of this. Is there any other way, to get the volume higher?

I realize, it's probably unlikely. But, I thought I'd ask?

    Thanks for reading . . . Jerry
