Command prompt help. “ Local volumes are required to complete the operation” shows when i enter the command

I don’t know much about the command prompt so bare with me here. I tried to put in the command MKLINK /J “%UserProfile%\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4” “E:\The Sims 4” and when i hit enter it said “Local volumes are required to complete the operation” does anyone know what i can do for this?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

I suggest you to follow the steps to format your esternal ssd

• 
  Go to this pc
  
• 
  Select the drive
  
• 
  Click on format
  
• 
  Select NTFS
  
• 
  Click on start
  

Data loss Warning:

Converting a hard disk partition or volume from NTFS to FAT32 requires that you reformat the partition, which deletes any data on it. Be sure to back up any data you want to keep before you begin.
