dx11 device creation fail : 080010010

I assume the game will only run DX11 effects.

Your HD3000 graphics is only capable of running DX9 / 10 effects.

Windows could not find (create) a DX11 capable graphics processor (device)

EDIT: Hm... I just had a look, and the game should run using DX10. There should be

no DX11 error then.

- It's more likely due to the capabilities of the Intel HD3000 graphics. Possibly because there is no

VRAM (dedicated video RAM ), or because there are no dedicated Win10 drivers for HD3000 graphics

(downloaded from Lenovo ).

If the game ran on the same machine using an earlier version of Windows it may be the generic Win10 drivers

are not be adequate for this game ?

Windows 7: DX10 v DX11

Well, I am not sure, but I think DX11 just added some new features and rendering options that make certain rendering processes faster. It is like DX10 takes say 10 steps to texture an object and 12 to shade it. DX11 will take 6 steps to texture and 10 to shade. DX10.1 should be exactly the same minus these features, hence the extra FPS.

If the game is only DX11, then even if you have a DX12 GPU (video card), and a DX12 OS (Windows 10), the game will only run is DX11 as that the mode the game was designed to run in. In order to run in DX12 mode you need 3 things....

• Game must be a DX12 title
• GPU must be DX12 capable
• OS must support DX12

If any of those things at missing, the game will run in the lowest DX mode available to the lowest item. In your case it appears the game is only DX11 capable, so your DX mode will be 11. Also be aware that the DX API is backwards compatible, which means DX12 can play older DX games - 8 - 11 for example. That even though the OS is DX12 capable, doesn't mean a DX9 title is automatically elevated to DX12.
