Some users cannot format a USB flash drive to FAT32 using Diskpart because of the “There is no volume selected” error on Windows computers. The FAT32 file system is required for several purposes, such as BIOS recovery and installing software updates on PlayStation. This error usually occurs when you run the Diskpart commands incorrectly. 2. Diskpart not locating volume with windows installed on it

    Hello,

I have a desktop that is currently stuck in a Repair loop, and goes to BSOD. One thing I found is when I try to rebuild BCD it says Total identified Windows installations: 0.

Currently it appears Windows is installed on the X:\ drive of this computer, but when I check diskpart and list volumes it doesn't show X:\ and none of the volumes displayed have a system partition in them.

If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it!

Thanks so much for this. I definitely need the dumbed down version, I'm a noob at this stuff. What's the easiest way to copy everything from E: to C:? I open E: and there's basically nothing in there. - - - Updated - - -
When I type format fs=NTFS quick it returns with: There is no volume selected. Please select a volume and try again. It does say Partition 1 is now the selected partition after the previous step. Thanks!
