The Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service allows your computer to connect to remote storage devices (SAN/NAS) over an IP network using the Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI) protocol, making them appear as local disks. The service runs under the LocalSystem account in a shared svchost.exe process and must be running before you can use iSCSI. […]

  2. Audio Service not starting - access denied

My audio service is refusing to start regardless of what I try on Windows 10 1803.

    I have attempted the following:

    • Re-installing audio drivers
    • Updating audio drivers
    • A full virus scan
    • A disk check
    • An SFC check
    • Making sure all the dependencies of the Windows Audio Service are running
None of these have succeeded in changing anything.
Whenever I try to start the audio service, I get this error message:

iSCSI Initiator Service fails to start with error Access is denied [IMG]

This made me think it is potentially the firewall messing everything up, so I start up Windows Defender and get this error message:

iSCSI Initiator Service fails to start with error Access is denied [IMG]

Are these two problems related, and does anyone know how I can fix it?

    EDIT:
The Windows Defender Antivirus Service and Windows Defender Antivirus Network Inspection Service are both not running, and when I try to start them I get this error:

iSCSI Initiator Service fails to start with error Access is denied [IMG]

I imagine that this is connected in some way but I have no clue how to fix it.

wsearch won't start, error 5 access denied

I guess when the service itself has an issue, it renames itself to the "Service name" instead of "Display name".

    - - - Updated - - - Try these suggestions: c# - windows could not start service on local computer error 5 access is denied - Stack Overflow - - - Updated - - - Another idea, similar to: DHCP Client service Error 5: Access is denied 1) Open Registry Editor and go to: 2) Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WSearch 3) Right click WSearch, and press Permissions... Do all these look similar on your computer? If not, then make them similar and restart your computer:

After the computer restarts, see if Windows Search works - - - Updated - - - Here are search results for having an exactly the same Permissions error for a Service: "windows could not start the "+"error 5 access is denied" - Search This could widen the horizon of different possibilities that you can try to fix the error if none of the above worked.
