Windows 10 Duplex Printing ONLY flipping on short side

Printer settings are specific to your printer driver, not to applications and not to Windows. It may well be that you set your printer to short edge flipping only. Here is the setup panel I see for my own Brother printer:

 

"Flip on long side not working" on windows 11 with EPSON ET-4500 Series

I have had this problem for years across different windows laptops in both Windows 10 and Windows 11, and I know that this is not a printer issue because "flip on long edge" works correctly when I print papers from KDE Neon. Basically, regardless of whether I choose "flip on long edge" or "flip on short edge" when printing a document from my windows laptops, it flips on the short edge, making the opposite page appear upside-down with portrait-oriented paper. Changing the flip option in printer properties does nothing. Removing and re-adding the printer in settings does not work. Changing the way the paper prints to flip on long edge in double-sided in settings->bluetooth & devices->printers & scanners->EPSON ET-4500 series->printing options->print on both sides does nothing. I have no idea how to fix this problem and I have been trying to fix it on and off for years now. Does anyone have any idea how I can get my printer to flip on long edge when printing from a windows 11 computer?

 

Windows 10 Duplex Printing ONLY flipping on short side

No matter what settings are used (flip long edge or short edge) Windows 10 ONLY prints flipping on the short edge. This is Windows-wide problem NOT specific to a program. I've tried Word, Open Office Writer, Notepad, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox... ALL Windows
printing "two-sided" is ONLY short edge. Even the latest drivers from Brother (the printer is a Brother HL-L8350CDW) do not help. I recently changed from a Mac which was more capable of printing properly, as my wife's Windows 7 laptop. This seems to be a Windows
10 Pro specific issue- and NO ONE has a solution.

Any ideas? It sucks having to make a document or save it on the PC, and move to my 10 year old Mac to print it b/c Windows is failing to follow a basic settings option properly.
