Windows 10: Sound buzzes and hesitation

Since installing the June 18 update to Win 10, my computer interrupts audio on any application with a brief buzz, about 1/10 of second, and all user processes hesitate for this time. This occurs at 5 to 15 second intervals continuously for several hours, after which it stops and the computer behaves normally. I am using an AMD Rysen 7 1700 processor on an ASRock X370 motherboard. The BIOS, all audio, and all video drivers are the latest versions. The interrupting behavior occurs on core 1 only. The behavior appears to continue as a background process when audio is not being used without causing the hesitation. I can see this on a cpu monitor app. I have done all the troubleshooting that I can short of a new install of the operating system. The behavior is absent after restoring from a backup predating the June update and returns after the June update. So, I am certain that something in the June update is the cause. Device manager shows no errors, but it jumps like there is an interrupt conflict with each spike on the cpu monitor or buzz. This makes it a bit of a challenge to check each device. Checking services there is no indication of additional resource usage by any process, although it may not last long enough to show on the resource monitor. Any suggestions?
