Windows 10: Win 10 Feature 4 Klutzes and Screw Ups

Perhaps this feature already exists and someone can kindly enlighten me. I use a Bluetooth mouse (no dongle) and while I am mostly happy with this relatively inexpensive MS product sometimes my "accuracy" is not what it used to be and when working with a speedy pcie nvme m.2 ssd drive things happen quickly : ) I was either right clicking or left clicking who knows in the root directory and all of a sudden I see a window pop up and I thought I saw "copying" but it was over with in a flash. So I thought oh no what have I inadvertently moved from the root directory that I shouldn't have. I knew about where I was in the directory (this pic shows the correction after I found what I did):





..but it took a few minutes to find out that I seemed to have moved the "Programs" folder" (mostly portable apps or other stuff that I do not want to install at the moment) into the "ProgramData" folder. (I know I have all hidden files and folders showing.)

I think I know that I can record all keystrokes but what I really would have liked to have done was typed into start "What did I just do" and it would have spit out "you moved the Programs Folder into the ProgramData Folder you moron." I have crippled Cortana as much as possible without jeopardizing the operating system but if Cortana could have come back and said, "You idiot! Did you want to move the Programs Folder into the ProgramData Folder" I would gladly turn her back on : )

Windows 10 Screw Up

I understand the inconvenience you are facing. Let me help you in resolving the issue.

I would appreciate if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

• Where exactly are you looking for the files, pictures and documents?
• Have you tried to look for the files in Safe mode and check if the files are present?
• Have you tried to look for the files in Windows.Old folder?

I suggest you to place the computer in safe mode and check if the files, pictures and documents are present.

Follow the below steps to place the computer in normal mode.

• Press Windows + R keys to open Run
  command.
• Type msconfig and press Enter.
• In the System Configuration window, click on
  General tab.
• Select Start-up selection as Normal startup, click on
  Apply and Ok.
• Follow onscreen instructions.

I also suggest you to update drivers and check if that helps. If that issue persist please uninstall and reinstall latest drivers available in manufacturer website.

• Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.
• Select Display Adapter and expand the driver icon.
• Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
• Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.

If that issue persist, I suggest you to install the latest available drivers on manufacturer's website in compatibility mode.

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

win 10 screwed up my photos folder's


before win 10 I had my photos (1000s ) all arranged in my picture (win 7 ) had em all catalogued and so forth
now win 10 in is infinite wisdom put them in folders according to date , beginning with the date I upgraded to win 10

any suggestions on how to unscrew them up ?

However, we suggest you to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter through these steps:

• Press Win + X then select Control Panel.
• Click Troubleshooting.
• Click Hardware and Sound then select Hardware and Devices.
• To run the troubleshooter, follow the steps from the wizard.
