  1. Converting ASCII output from old 16 bit program

Datafile created in Turbo pascal 16bit program when viewed in win 10(via winword) does not convert the ASCII char such as 170 but displays the hex code.

While the original code was as Decimal number in TP.exe what should I for the output to display correctly - hex character code?

    Thank you.

    :)

I have just purchased a new CPU with windows 7 32 bit O\S

i can't get an old 16 bit program to run.

All i get is a black screen and a flashing curser.

I had it running okay on my old CPU running windows 7 32 bit.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Flac (24bit) to Flac (16 bit) decent converter program

    Hi folks

I've some music that I want to leave as FLAC but the rubbish phone I've got won't play FLAC @24 bits but will handle FLAC at @16 bits.

Any decent programs around to convert to 16 bit. Note I'm using decent headphones so I don't want some mushy mp3 sound played using those hideous cheap bud type phones (usually more people Not wearing them hear the "music" than the wearers --especially the apple white one's !!!).

K3b (on Linux) will do it in a bit of a roundabout way --burn to a "Virtual audio CD" losslessly which preserves the sampling rate but you then need to re-rip again to get FLAC files for your device (and sometimes you have to re-tag too). For CD audio it will change the files to 16 bit which plays just fine and is standard for CD's but for CD's - you want to keep the decent sampling rate though

I'm looking for a simple quick way to do it !! on Windows and preferably Free without complicated "Dithering options" etc..

    Cheers

Flac (24bit) to Flac (16 bit) decent converter program

    Hi there

    Thanks

    +1 for you

works brilliantly on Windows (and Linux too)

    Does just what I want.

The advantage of using Linux over Windows in this type of instance for me is that I can run it natively from my NAS boxes and also I don't run into the file name restriction lengths with Windows (220 chars or so for path length _ directory _ file name) etc.

Windows must really address the old file length name restrictions - particularly if you have long file names representing descriptive track names etc for your music files.

However as a program it works superbly well both on Windows and Linux so great stuff there.

    Cheers
