Windows 10: 0x800704cf error code when trying to download applications from the Microsoft store.

So I was trying to setup a bridge network so that I could connect my pc to my xbox over ethernet. Everything seemed to go just fine until I opened up the console companion app. When I tried signing in I started getting the 0x800704cf error code saying I could not connect to the internet. I have since removed the bridge network and tried the common solutions for the problem from the internets (wsreset, uninstalling network adapter drivers, resetting the app) and even tried a system restore. All to no avail.... The only thing I think could have happened is that there's either some file on the machine or a registry entry that got changed when creating the bridge network and now the microsoft apps all seem to not be able to connect to the internet even though I can still browse the web etc. So basically pls help.....

• Type WSReset.exe, and then click OK or press
